So about a year ago I found a very cheap Time Crisis 4 + Guncon3 for PS3. The game is amazing however the Guncon3 only works for the single game. I've searched and searched for solutions, answers, or simply just a way to use this lightgun for anything else. Its USB however there aren't any USB Drivers for windows.. Under linux it shows up as 'Zeroplus Xbox Controller' in lsusb.
- For a kit, it costs around £80 for the non recoil version and that includes the gun and a good quality sensor bar. The Aimtrak lightgun is basically plug and play. There is some software to install which helps you set up the light gun and then calibrate it and then you will see it working in WIndows as a mouse.
- Plus, the GunCon 3 doesn't have any PC drivers, much like the PlayStation Move and Microsoft Kinect. As I mentioned before, the Wiimote-GlovePIE setup is the most workable because it replaces the mouse and allows the Nunchuck to handle the D-Pad and additional buttons of the GunCon 2. That's my own idea, though.
- I think it is a driver problem. I try to install the driver of the 'GunCon2 driver xp' folder. But it asks me for a guncon2.sys and i can't find it, so I used the other driver. Sorry for my bad english, i am a german.
You also need a videocard with a composite video input or s-video input with a composite adaptor. This works perfectly,but the only issue is that no one has wrote a drive for a guncon to work on the ps2 emulator. Using this setup though, it is fairly easy to take the mame driver for this setup and make it compatible with ps2 emulators.
Anyone out there able to reverse engineer one of these to work with the PC? Kinda like how they did it for the six axis, wiimote, kinect? I know nothing about hacking or even coding for that matter, so I come here to hackaday to hopefully ask you amazing hackers to help.-Thank you.
